Engineering from a new point of view is required to use the limited resources in the earth and sustain a better society with affluence. This College educates and researches engineering from the perspective of Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) to be friendly to the global environment and human beings.
This College located in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, abundant with nature, with the campus of about 380,000 m2 in total. In this vast campus, the College has a classroom building constructed with care for the environment. The Nihon University College of Engineering Worldwide Research Center for Advanced Engineering & Technology (NEWCAT) is equipped with an animal experiment room where surgical operations can be performed, which is the first of its kind for an engineering college, and conducts research in medical engineering and genetic engineering by collaboration of medicine and engineering, and the Cooperative Research Center for Environmental Preservation and Ecological Life Cycles that conducts research in global environmental problems from a perspective of environmental preservation for nature and human beings and ecological life cycles. Thus, the College of Engineering promotes advanced research and uses the results in education. It has introduced a curriculum to be qualified as Professional Engineer (PE) that is an internationally effective license, and is endeavoring to produce engineers who are active internationally.
